It has recently been reported that the death of Professor Richard Morrisett, who was accused of being a violent domestic abuser, has been declared a suicide by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s office. According to the autopsy report, an empty bottle of euthanasia medication and a syringe were found at the scene.
In May 2016, the Revolutionary Student Front (RSF), a now-defunct group at the University of Texas at Austin (UT), launched a campaign against Morrisett following allegations of his abuse.
The group reportedly spray-painted buildings on campus with slogans such as “UT harbors abusers” and “Get out Morrisett or else!” and posted the images on their website.
The RSF issued a statement saying that Morrisett’s death was not a tragedy and that the world is better off without him.
