UNITED STATES: Wave of Mail Bombs Raises Concerns of Creeping Fascism

UPDATE: The suspect was named as 56-year-old Cesar Sayoc, who has a “lengthy criminal record” and a previous bomb threat arrest, according to law enforcement. Video has also been uncovered of Sayoc at a Trump rally. Stay tuned for more updates.

A Florida man was arrested today suspected in mailing pipe bombs this week to key bourgeois politicians, according to the Washington Post and other news outlets.

According to news outlets the man is in his 50s and may hail from South Florida, possibly from the City of Opa-locka.

Twelve pipe bombs were mailed out to several politicians and news channels this week. However, none of the bombs detonated. The FBI has intercepted them all as of this posting.

The first bomb apprehended was sent to liberal billionaire and Democratic Party supporter George Soros. President Trump and his supporters spread belligerent lies that Soros pays “leftist” and Democratic Party protesters to rally against the administration.

He deflects blame from fanning the flames of the proto-fascist movement with nonsensical rhetoric, regularly casting blame on the liberal Democratic Party.

“The Democrats don’t like being called an angry mob,” Trump said. “But, really, that’s what they’ve become.”

In addition to Soros, pipe bombs were mailed to former liberal-imperialist President Barack Obama, former Vice-President Joe Biden, former imperialist Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Los Angeles based Representative Maxine Waters and other key Democratic critics of President Trump.

In addition to former bourgeois politicians, the New York headquarters of CNN also received a pipe bomb, addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan. Both Brennan and CNN have criticized the administration, causing a vindictive Trump to lambaste them as “fake news.”

The public shaming and de-legitimization of the critical press, even if bourgeois, has been a staple populist tactic by fascist governments. Trump, ignorant of the history of fascism or not, follows in these footsteps.

The self-victimization tactic used by the Trump Administration is indicative not of desperation, but of strategically building up popular right wing support against the liberal wing of the bourgeois “establishment” or state.

Politicians in the U.S., from both bourgeois parties in power, have used these bomb-mailings to their advantage.

The liberal-wing of the bourgeoisie has used this opportunity to point out the fascistic tactics employed by Trump supporters.

The reactionary and conservative bourgeoisie has adopted the theory that the bomb-mailings are a false flag operation concocted by the very liberal critics of the current administration, according to several news sources such as Newsweek.

While it may be laughable to suspect non-violent liberals being responsible for the terrorist pipe bomb mailing, it is not without possibility. Nonetheless, the most likely culprits behind the attacks are the panicky and reactionary proto-fascist Trump supporters.

The extreme reactionary elements of the country’s right wing camp continue to be emboldened by the president’s belligerent defense of white supremacist organizations and political positions, such as so-called fascistic “patriots” and their attacks against LGBT people, workers’ rights and the Central American immigrant caravan moving its way to the U.S.-Mexico border.

“You’re going to find MS-13, you’re going to find Middle Eastern, you’re going to find everything,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House earlier in the week. “And guess what? We’re not allowing them in our country. We want safety.”

The news of the mail bombs sent by fascistic Trump supporters is not a surprise for the revolutionary movement in the U.S.

Maoists have always understood the ever-present threat of fascism within capitalism and its dual character: state and non-state collaboration.

Trump’s creeping fascism cannot fully dominate the country without his rabid supporters – like the mail bomber, like white supremacist para-military organizations, like the Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, Minutemen and other reactionary “patriots” all working toward a common goal: fascism.

Revolutionaries understand this and fight the Brown Shirts of fascism through militant confrontations, militant operations and through all the Maoist projects throughout the country conquering revolutionary power.
